    Use "Voice Reply" accordingly to make it work

      Hey Russ, me again.
      I have a command rn to shutdown my PC, very basic:

      Im confused what actually "Voice Reply" does. I was expecting it will just reply it back once this command is being ran, but my Alexa Echo Dot always just says "ok".

      If i use a Routine for this command/device and just use the "Alexa says" feature, it works okayish. Alexa tries to say "ok" first but then cuts that and then proceeds to say the line i entered in the routine.
      I wonder now which way is the best do this.

        @Furkan-Cevik, good question. I suspect you're probably using the Smart Home skill which does not use the Voice Reply field.

        The Voice Reply field only works with the old/original conversational Alexa skills.

        I usually recommend the Smart Home skill unless you need the Voice Reply field because the Smart Home skill matches your words to your command triggers much better. To work around that limitation you can create an Alexa Routine that uses the conversational skill with with a custom action like this:

          @Russ Yea i use the Smart Home Skill, like it much more
          Ill stick with the Routine way, it aint that bad
