Hey (probably Russ)!
My end goal is to use something like this (happy to take other suggestions) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZB2QLC2/ref=twister_B0866TMCMQ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 and when I walk in, alexa or google asks me if I want to turn my computer on, and of course, If I say yes, it does. (even cooler if when I said no, it said "okay, please let me know if there is anything else I can do"
So been messing around with trigger cmd and my google home mini, was able to get it to turn my computer off (using one of the example triggers)I also tried to get the computer to turn on through pressing a key, but got the "can not find script file". I looked at the forum that was linked but I don't even have a scripts folder.
The last thing is i'm not entirely sure how to have google actually respond. I know russ was talking about how it doesn't work on smart home, but how can I make it not smart home.
Thank you all!!!!

@raffles-hogan, as far as I know, there's no way to invoke an Alexa skill or Google Assistant action without saying the wake words like "Alexa" or "Hey Google" first.
About pressing a key - you would have to create the scripts folder and create the script that presses a key. Also, if the computer is actually off, nothing can run on it. I think the post you read was about turning the monitor on.
This page lists all the ways you can trigger commands. I pasted the section that shows the Smart Home and original skills here:
Smart Home voice assistant skills (Example: "Hey Google, turn on calculator")
Original voice assistant skills (Example: "Alexa, ask TRIGGERcmd to run calculator"):
