    • Android widget text label and vertical position oddities

      Hi @Russ,

      1. Can the text label be put below the widget icon?

      2. I'm having difficulty getting the widget to line up like other widgets.

I just now added the Visual Voicemail widget to the left of the TRIGGERcmd widget. It has the text label below its icon and I don't have a problem positioning it vertically. Below are two screen captures where I very carefully nudge the TRIGGERcmd widget up and down but can't get it to align like the other icons in the same row -- Visual Voicemail widget, TRIGGERcmd widget, Wifi app (not a widget) and network utilities folder.

    • Android widget feature request to make it easier to specify the trigger name

      Hi @Russ,

My trigger names tend to be long in order to be descriptive. Ideally it would be great if the Android TRIGGERcmd Widgets app could allow browsing the computers on my account, and then browse the trigger names.

But I was thinking of an alternative that might be easier to implement -- could the widget app (and I guess the underlying API, since the token is the authentication method) be changed from "Trigger Name" to "Trigger Name or Voice"? The "Voice" is shorter, unique and easier for me to remember than the long trigger names. This could potentially be used by users even if they don't have an Amazon Echo or Google Home.

    • Tagging examples by platform?

      Windows, Linux, Mac

Perhaps putting the platform name in [brackets] in the topic? This seems like it would be too unstructured and easy for a poster not to indicate the platform.

Maybe force the user to pick an icon:

      platforms

Or maybe allow Example Commands to have folders by platform?

Since I'm the one suggesting it, I'll be glad to go through all of the examples already posted here.

    • RE: Run a shell script on a Mac

Hi Matt, I'm struggling with this as well. I can't tell from the linux-like examples when one is supposed to escape special characters, like the forward slash.

LED strip control from a Raspberry Pi | TRIGGERcmd Forum

      python3 \/root\/green.py

Google assistant say the Raspberry Pi temperature | TRIGGERcmd Forum

      python3 /home/pi/temperature.py

When I look at ~/.TRIGGERcmdData/debug.log it doesn't seem to record each attempt, i.e., I don't see entries when I execute a trigger from the web. I was sort of expecting something to be written to this log that corresponded with each entry seen under "View Runs" on the web interface.

      @Russ, could you clarify:

      • what environment variables are inherited by the agent running on the Mac, especially $PATH
      • where can I look to find the stdout/stderr result of executing a shell command
      • what exactly needs to be escaped, e.g., the inconsistent escaping of the forward slash as shown in the above examples

    • Web UI enhancement request -- allow deleting a trigger from the "View Triggers" page

I envision it would work similar to the Computer Management page where there are checkboxes and an option to "Delete Selected".
